Who we are

Volton Technology OÜ (registry code 17019506, registered in Tallinn, Estonia) is the data controller for personal data processed via volton.energy and the Volton service.

The privacy policy below covers our marketing site, the Volton Retail open-supply contract, and the Volton Platform B2B services.

What we collect

For visitors to volton.energy: standard server logs (IP address, request URL, timestamp, user-agent), and self-hosted analytics events via Umami (page views, button clicks). No third-party trackers.

For Volton Retail customers: the personal data needed to operate an electricity supply contract — name, ID code, address, EIC consumption-point identifiers, electricity-meter readings, payment data.

For B2B platform users: contact details (name, email, role), and operational telemetry from the assets we dispatch on your behalf.

Why we collect it

Contract performance (Article 6(1)(b) GDPR): everything needed to deliver the Volton service you signed up for, including settling imbalances with Elering and reporting to the regulator.

Legitimate interest (Article 6(1)(f) GDPR): self-hosted analytics to understand which content is useful, security logging to detect abuse.

Consent (Article 6(1)(a) GDPR): marketing communications, where applicable, with a clear opt-out.

Cookies and analytics

We use Umami, a self-hosted privacy-friendly analytics service. Umami does not set cookies and does not collect personally identifiable information.

Strictly necessary cookies are used to remember your locale preference and to keep you signed into the admin if you are an editor.

No advertising cookies, no Facebook pixel, no Google Analytics, no third-party tracking. Ever.

Your rights

Under GDPR you can request access to your data, correction, deletion, restriction of processing, data portability, and you can object to processing based on legitimate interest. Email info@volton.ee with the subject line "Data request" and we will respond within 30 days.

You also have the right to lodge a complaint with the Estonian Data Protection Inspectorate (Andmekaitse Inspektsioon).
