Do I need to switch electricity provider to use Volton?
No. Volton devices work with any supplier — you just need a spot-price (hourly) package so the cheap hours actually show up on your bill. Businesses can also get supply directly from us: the Golden Electricity Package is spot-priced power with a 0.5 c/kWh margin and €0 monthly fee.
Are there monthly fees?
No. You buy the device once; the app, the optimization and software updates are free. No subscriptions, no hidden charges.
Which devices can I connect?
Water heaters, electric radiators, floor heating, air-to-air and air-to-water heat pumps, ground-source heat pumps, EV chargers — any big, flexible load.
Which markets does Volton trade?
Day-ahead and intraday on Nord Pool, plus the frequency reserve markets aFRR and mFRR. We are an active, licensed Balance Responsible Party (BRP) and Balance Service Provider (BSP).
How does the Volton app work?
The app shows today’s and tomorrow’s electricity prices, what your devices are doing and your savings in real time. Pick an operating mode and Volton handles the rest.
