How it works
What does Volton actually do for my asset?
We connect your battery, park or industrial load to the Estonian and Nordic power markets, handle the trading and dispatch, and pay you a revenue share. No fixed fees — we earn when you earn.
Which markets does Volton trade?
Day-ahead and intraday on Nord Pool, plus the frequency reserve markets aFRR and mFRR. We are an active, licensed Balance Responsible Party (BRP) and Balance Service Provider (BSP).
How long does onboarding take?
From quote to live revenue in under a week — including data integration, prequalification and the first trades. No 6-month integration projects.
Fees and commitment
Is there a fixed fee or monthly cost?
No. Volton takes a 10% margin from earned revenue — there are no fixed or monthly fees. We profit only when you do.
Do I have to commit long term?
We are looking for long-term partnerships, but offer a 1-month trial with no commitment so prospective clients can test the platform first-hand.
When and how do I get paid?
Settlement follows the underlying market: spot revenue is invoiced monthly against day-ahead and intraday clearings, and reserve revenue is invoiced once Elering completes monthly settlement. Volton deducts the agreed margin and pays the rest to you.
Onboarding
What kind of assets can join?
Solar parks from a few hundred kW upward, wind farms, battery storage systems, and dispatchable industrial loads. If your asset can adjust output or consumption based on a signal, it likely qualifies.
What hardware do I need?
Most modern inverters, BESS controllers and SCADA systems integrate directly. Where a controller is missing, we ship a Mikrotik or Teltonika gateway preconfigured for your site — installation typically takes under an hour.
Operations
Will my asset be dispatched against my will?
No. Every asset has a dispatch envelope you control — opt out hours, technical limits, minimum payback thresholds. We trade only inside that envelope.
Where can I see what my asset earns?
In your live dashboard. Production, trades, settlements and forecasts are visible in real time, per asset and rolled up across the portfolio. No PDFs, no monthly waiting period.
